Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do you offer a high tea service?
A: We offer a cozy tea experience. High tea is super fancy and wonderful and we definitely love it but our shop is for cozy fun! We want our hosts, mamas, and guests to feel comfortable to put their elbows on the table. We have beautiful china, and fancy plates and platters - and our food is delicious! But, we are not serving a full course meal with a butler's table service. Kids are welcome, and it's really okay if a little tea gets spilled. Note: Yes, we have clotted cream, lemon curd & jam to go with your scone!
Q: Can I see your menu pricing?
A: Our main menu is here on the website. It will give you an idea of our tea options and food. When you stop in to see the space for your event, we will give you a tea party checklist and go over the menu options. It's helpful to do this step in person so we can be on the same page and talk through your questions, food allergies (if any), and basics. You can take the checklist with you and call back closer to your date with your order.
Q: Can I put my deposit on a credit card?
A: No, we return these to you on the day of your event. You can pay your deposit with cash or a check. We will hold it for you until the day of the event.
Q: I'd like to have a group of friends meet for lunch in the party room during the week, can we just order when we get there?
A: For parties of 8 or more, we require an order in advance. We can help you price per person to make paying easier or you can organize your group with what sandwiches & teas they want ahead of time. This ensures speedy service, and a great experience for everyone.
Q: Do you decorate the room?
A: We will have a beautiful spread on the table for you when you arrive. We have a variety of table clothes and lovely dishes. You are more than welcome to bring decorations, as well. Some of the best tea parties we've had are due to decorations brought by the host.
Q: Do you have kid-friendly tea? (no caffeine but flavorful?)
A: Yes! The most popular teas for the kiddos are Cherry Chamomile (it's pink), Peppermint, Blueberry Lemongrass (it's purple), and Lemongrass. We will have honey and sweeteners on the table to be used at your discretion. We can also sell you a pitcher of lemonade or lavender lemonade.
Q: My kid has a food allergy, can I bring them something?
A: Let's chat about it! We want to accommodate your needs as much as we can, but we also can't have all food coming from other vendors or we'll never pay the bills! We are happy to work with you on a case by case basis.
Q: Do you have activities for kid birthday parties?
A: In the past, we have read a tea related story (brought by the host) to kiddos. We also have lovely tea color sheets that can be colored on. Some hosts have brought craft projects like making hats with artificial flowers. Feel free to come up with an activity and we will help accommodate. Note: No glitter allowed.
Q: Can I borrow your: cake stand/tape/scissors/etc?
A: Yes! If you forget something we can usually help you out! We have a lighter for the candles, too.
Q: I don't want to book the entire shop but my party is larger than 15 people, can they sit in your dining area and wander in and out of the party?
A: No, we keep our prices low and affordable for the tea party room because we are able to maintain regular business during your party in the other half of the tea house. You may have more than 15 people in the tea party room, but they will need to stand and stay inside the room. Your party cannot linger in the hallway due to fire hazard issues. If parents want to stay at the shop during the party, that's fine - we would just like them to buy a cup of tea while they wait.
Q: How much should I order for a party of 8-10 people?
A: Usually 3-4 pots of tea, 3-4 orders of different finger sandwiches, and some desserts will cover you. Some parties opt to do a veggie tray or fruit tray and serve their own cake as dessert. As long as you meet the minimum for the time you are here, we are happy.
Q: Do you have anything special on Mother's Day or Father's Day?
A: YES! We actually go by reservation only on Mother's Day and Father's Day. We will post more about those events closer to the holiday, watch out for it on the website, Facebook Page & Instagram account.
